Operatives of the Southwest security network, also known as Amotekun corps, in Osun, have arrested two teenagers for stealing a neighbour’s motorcycle in Apomu, Isokan LGA.

In a statement on Tuesday, Bashir Adewinmbi, corps commander, said the suspects sold the Bajaj motorcycle for the sum of N15,000 in the Ogunpa area of Ibadan, the Oyo capital.

Adewinmbi said the suspects are aged 18 and 19 years old.

“The suspects, aged 18 and 19 years old, were arrested after a complaint was lodged at Amotekun Isokan command by the owner of the stolen motorcycle,” NAN quoted him as saying.

“Our operatives swung into action immediately and apprehended the culprits in their hideout.”

Adewinmbi said the corps also arrested 45 and 51 years old men while attempting to cart away a vehicle engine on Monday.

He said the suspects were arrested at midnight while the Amotekun operatives were on patrol in the Osogbo area of the state.

Another suspect was also apprehended for stealing a vehicle in Ikirun, Ifelodun LGA of the state.

The corps commander said all the suspects confessed to the crimes during interrogation, adding that they have been handed over to the police for further investigation.

He urged residents to support the corps with information that would enable the command to eliminate criminals from the state.
