The TY Buratai Humanity Care Foundation has commended TheCable for upholding journalistic integrity and promoting diverse perspectives in the country’s media space.
In a statement on Wednesday, Ibrahim Danfulani, chairman of the foundation, praised TheCable for its commitment to the principles of independence, impartiality, and integrity in its reporting.
“Since its establishment on November 29, 2011, and the subsequent launch of its online platform on April 29, 2014, TheCable has consistently strived to be a beacon of respect and integrity in the Nigerian media landscape,” the statement reads.
“The publication’s editorial values — independence, impartiality, integrity, defence of public interest, and respect for diversity — serve as a guiding light for responsible journalism, ensuring that the voices of all Nigerians are heard and respected.”

The foundation said TheCable’s fair-minded and even-handed approach to reporting resonates with the values of a democratic society, adding that media organisations should emulate the standard set by the organisation.
“As the media landscape continues to evolve, the foundation’s commendation serves as a clarion call for all media practitioners to emulate the principles exemplified by TheCable,” the statement reads.
“It is a reminder that journalism is not merely a profession but a vital pillar of democracy that demands respect, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to the truth.”
