Tyson Fury to Anthony Joshua: I’m more Nigerian than you

Briton Tyson Fury says he is more of a Nigerian than Anthony Joshua as he seeks to fight the heavyweight champion for a shot at the unified world title.

Joshua was born in Watford, England to a family of Nigerian descent.

While all points to a rematch between Joshua and Wladmir Klitschko in December, a persistent exchange of words between AJ and Fury is dominating the headlines.

Fury on Tuesday embarked an Instagram rant after Joshua labelled his November 2015 win over Klitschko as “boring”.

“He didn’t throw a punch. He didn’t come to fight,” the 27-year-old told Sky Sports.

“He just walked around the ring for like 12 rounds, it’s boring. It’s not winning, it’s how you win.

“His stock didn’t rise. Your stock has got to rise and he could have had the better win, but when people look at it, many years after, ask them whose fight they will remember.”

Joshua’s comments infuriated the Manchester boxer.

He responded by once again challenging Joshua to a fight and described the heavyweight champion as a “big bully”.

“We see who is boring when U fave me! A big bully is what you are u big dosser. Big femi your bully street name. I’ve seen your type many times. The man who can’t speak his own mind, the plastic Nigeria. I’m more Nigerian than you! I’ll fly the flag for Nigeria when we fight,” he wrote in part.
