Uba Sani, the governor of Kaduna, has appointed Ya’u Shehu Usman, the Emir of Kauru, as the Amirul hajj and leader of the government delegation for the 2025 hajj exercise.
Usman’s appointment was announced on Monday in a statement signed by Ibraheem Musa, the chief press secretary (CPS), to the governor.
Musa said the appointment of the traditional ruler was based on his track record of selfless service, integrity and effective human management.
“The Amirul hajj is expected to work closely with the Kaduna state special hajj committee and other agencies at the state, federal and international levels to deliver a hitch-free 2025 pilgrimage,” the statement reads.
