Uba Sani, governor of Kaduna, has appointed Ibraheem Musa, former editor of Daily Trust, as his chief press secretary (CPS).
Fabian Okoye, special adviser on research, documentation and strategy to the governor, announced the appointment in a statement issued on Friday.
Until his appointment, Musa was a media consultant to the governor.
He was the senior special assistant to Nasir el-Rufai, former governor of Kaduna.

Okoye said Musa has over 30 years of experience in the media.
“The new Chief Press Secretary started his working career as a Press Review Officer in Government House, Bauchi in 1991. Thereafter, he joined Hotline News Magazine in 1993 and rose to the position of Deputy Editor,” the statement reads.
“He had a short stint with The Sentinel Magazine, before joining the New Nigerian Newspapers, where he spent 10 years. At the New Nigerian, he was the Political Editor and a member of the Editorial Board.

“While on a Leave of Absence, Malam Ibraheem Musa served in the National Assembly as a Legislative Aide.
“In 2007, the new Chief Press Secretary was appointed the Political Editor of Trust Newspaper. After a year, he became the Kaduna Bureau Chief of the Newspaper.
“In 2011, he left for the Blueprint Newspaper as Kaduna Bureau Chief. In 2017, he was appointed the Editor of Blueprint Weekend.
“Malam Ibraheem was the Deputy Director of Strategic Communication of the Kaduna State APC Campaign Team in 2019. In the 2023 campaign, he was the Director of Strategic Communication and Spokesman of the APC Campaign Team.”

The governor also made other appointments.
Sani appointed John Danfulani as executive secretary of the Kaduna State Residents Identity Management Agency (KADRIMA).
The governor named Mohammed Mubarak as acting executive secretary of Kaduna State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).
He appointed Aliyu Saeed as the executive director (finance and administration) of Kaduna Mining Development Company (KDMC); Muhammad Salisu as the executive director (operations) of Kaduna Markets Development and Management Company (KMDMC); and Shehu Usman Ibrahim as special assistant for local government and chieftaincy matters.

Other appointments include Falmata Abacha as senior special assistant for social investment; Abdulhadi Makarfi as executive director (operations) at the Kaduna State Enterprise Development Agency (KADEDA); Iyal Yahaya as executive director (finance and administration) of the same entity; Bashir Babajo as special assistant for special duties; and Ruth Popoola as senior special assistant on financial inclusion.
