Uba Sani, governor of Kaduna, has asked Muslims to pray for the success of the government’s efforts against poverty, hunger and insecurity in Nigeria.

In a statement to mark the Eid-ul-Mawlid celebration on Monday, Sani urged the Muslim faithful to emulate the virtues and teachings of Mohammed.

He appealed to Nigerians to be patient with the federal government’s stride towards socio-economic development, noting that the immediate impact is “usually painful and stressful”.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led Federal Government has taken bold social and economic measures whose immediate impact is expectedly painful and stressful,” the statement reads.

“With patience and sustained support for the federal government, our economy would bounce back and the socio-economic conditions of our people would improve.

“As you reflect on the Prophet’s teachings and legacy at this Maulud, please join me as I lead the charge in rural transformation and rebuilding of trust and care in our communities, irrespective of religion and ethnicity.

“My dear brothers and sisters in the faith, I urge you to emulate the Prophet’s life of compassion, kindness, selflessness, patience, and perseverance.
