Uba Sani bags award for prioritising welfare of Kaduna pilgrims in Saudi Arabia

Uba Sani, governor of Kaduna, has received a special service award for facilitating an enabling environment in Saudi Arabia for pilgrims from the state during the last hajj exercise.

Yusuf Arrigassiyu, secretary of the Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency (KSPWA), was also recognised at the event tagged, 2023 hajj lecture and award,  held on Thursday at National Mosque in Abuja.

While speaking, Ibrahim Muhammad, national coordinator of the Independent Hajj Reporters (IHR), said the accommodation provided by the Kaduna State government  for its pilgrims in Saudi Arabia was the best.

He said the governor also ensured adequate security of pilgrims at the hajj camp and the airport before they were airlifted.

“Kaduna State Pilgrims Agency also airlifted all pilgrims with visa to Saudi Arabia by ensuring proper coordination with airlines, National Hajj Commission Of Nigeria (NAHCON) and other stakeholders,” Muhammad said.

He further said Arrigassiyu stayed with the pilgrims in the same accommodation, led  prayers and preached to them on how to perform an acceptable hajj at the holy land.

“The executive secretary of Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency was always in his uniform throughout the Hajj exercise,” Muhammad added.

Ahmadu Fintiri, governor of Adamawa, was the guest of honour at the event, Zikrullah Hassan, NAHCON chairman, was chief host of the event, while Zubairu Dada, former minister of state for foreign affairs, chaired the event.
