Uba Sani commends NYSC for ‘contributing to Nigeria’s unity’

Uba Sani, governor of Kaduna, has commended the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) for its “outstanding contributions to national unity and integration”.

In a statement, Eddy Megwa, director of press at the NYSC headquarters, said Sani spoke at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Batch ‘B’ pre-orientation workshop in the state.

The governor, who was represented by Rabi Salisu, commissioner for human services and social development, acknowledged the NYSC’s efforts in encouraging patriotism.

Sani commended the NYSC for organising the workshop, adding that it would help evaluate the scheme’s performances and improve its efficiency.

YD Ahmed, director-general of the NYSC, emphasised the importance of the workshop in reviewing previous orientation courses, identifying areas of improvement, and enhancing the overall performance of subsequent programmes.

Ahmed asked the participants to leverage the workshop to achieve a hitch-free programme.

He also encouraged participants to take advantage of the resources available.

Ahmed Ikaka, director of planning, research and statistics at NYSC, added that the orientation camp leaves a lasting impression on corps members.

Top management of the NYSC, camp directors, state coordinators, and other stakeholders from across the country, attended the workshop.
