Uba Sani donates N10m to armed forces remembrance

Uba Sani, governor of Kaduna sate, has donated N10 million to the 2025 Armed Forces Remembrance Day emblem launch.

Speaking at the Arewa house on Friday, Sani said the donation was a tribute to the courage and sacrifices of the Nigerian Armed Forces (NAF).

He described the occasion as “a significant moment to honour the selflessness and dedication of the military” and urged organisations and individuals to donate “generously” to the appeal fund.

“The emblem symbolises the selflessness, loyalty, dedication, resilience, and innovativeness of our Armed Forces,” he said.

“This emblem reminds us of the ultimate price paid by our fallen heroes and the welfare needs of surviving veterans.

“Through our support, we demonstrate that their sacrifice is not in vain. We remember their families and reaffirm our commitment to their welfare.”

Speaking on his administration’s commitment to security, Sani said he has partnered with federal forces and initiatives to address root causes of insurgency in the state.

“We have forged a strong partnership with federal security forces to secure Kaduna State,” he said.

“Our administration has also created a private-sector-driven Kaduna State Security Trust Fund to mobilise resources for effective and sustained execution of the war against terrorists, bandits, kidnappers, and other criminal elements.

“We have equally prioritised social intervention programmes, which aim to reduce poverty and unemployment, providing opportunities that steer youths away from crime and radicalisation.”

The governor said he has signed certificates of occupancy for two parcels of land for NAF to establish an air wing and construct post-service housing in Kaduna city.
