Uba Sani: Nigerians will soon start reaping fruits of Tinubu’s reforms

Uba Sani, the governor of Kaduna, says Nigerians will soon begin to reap the benefits of President Bola Tinubu’s reforms.

The governor spoke on Tuesday at a lecture organised by the Arewa Think Tank, themed ‘Agricultural perspectives of Nigeria in the last 64 Years of independence’.

Sani said the nation’s economy is improving rapidly and assured that Nigerians would in no time feel the positive impact.

He praised Tinubu’s determination to reset Nigeria and place the country “irreversibly on the path to sustainable growth and development.”

“With just a little more patience and perseverance, we shall start reaping the fruits of the reforms. In fact, we are already turning the corner,” he said.

The governor stressed the need for Nigerians to support Tinubu during this “critical time.”

“The renewed hope agenda is President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s visionary and transformative policy thrust aimed at repositioning Nigeria as a global investment hub,” the governor said.

“This agenda, anchored on the core pillars of democracy, development, and diaspora engagement, is being vigorously pursued with courage and patriotic zeal.”

Sani also highlighted the importance of prioritising the agricultural sector in Nigeria’s transformation, noting its potential to provide citizens with a new lease on life.

He recalled that, at independence, agriculture was the mainstay of the Nigerian economy, adding that resources from the sector were effectively utilized by the three regions to build critical infrastructure and develop human capital.

The governor lamented that the agricultural sector had been neglected following the discovery of oil.

“We must return to agriculture and invest heavily in it. It holds the key to addressing the challenges of poverty, unemployment, and insecurity,” Sani said.
