Uba Sani sets up committee for hitch-free hajj exercise in Kaduna

Uba Sani, governor of Kaduna, says a committee has been inaugurated to ensure that the 2024 hajj exercise in the state is hitch-free.

The governor disclosed this on Saturday in Kaduna at the finals of the state’s  annual Qur’anic recitation competition.

Sani said many people had approached him for contracts for the provision of pilgrims uniforms, food and  accommodation among others during the hajj.

“Whoever gets contract for hajj services should fear Allah and give the best to the pilgrims so that they can earn the prayers of the pilgrims, not the wrath of Allah that the pilgrims are going to serve,” the Kaduna governor said.

Sani also allotted hajj seats for the overall winners of the male and female categories of the competition.

He added that in his personal capacity, he donated cash prizes to the first four contestants who emerged top across the categories of the competition.

Sani added that those who came first in the male and female categories would be among clerics that will serve as guides and preachers for pilgrims from the state in Mecca.

Delivering a lecture at the event,  Abdullahi Bala Lau, national leader, Jama’atu Izalatu Bid’ah Wa Ikamatu Sunnah (JIBWIS), called on muslims, especially the scholars, to continue to teach the Qur’an to others. He noted that “it is the bast way to achieve peace”.

Lau commended the governor “for his  contribution to the propagation of Islam” and urged him to carry on with the good works of  Nasir el-Rufai, his predecessor.
