Uba Sani, the governor of Kaduna state, says an efficient criminal justice system is essential for building and maintaining a stable and secure society.
He made these remarks on Tuesday during the swearing-in ceremony of Murtala Jafaaru Zubairu as a high court judge at the council of the government house.
Sani emphasised that to effectively combat criminality in Kaduna, the agencies responsible for prosecution and justice must ensure there is no undue delay in legal proceedings.
He pledged to improve the working environment for judicial personnel and to strengthen public trust in the justice system.

“I am committed to enhancing a cordial working relationship with the judicial arm of the government,” he said.
”All that is necessary in promoting, projecting and ensuring that our justice service delivery and indeed the justice sector keeps working in line with the extant provisions of the law.
“One of the key priorities of our administration is the revitalisation of the justice sector to effectively play its role of justice delivery. An efficient criminal justice system is critical to the building and sustenance of a stable, secure and democratic society.”

Sani said his administration is dedicated to strengthening the judicial system to ensure the effective and efficient administration of justice.
He urged the newly sworn-in judge to fulfil his duties without fear or favour.
“We cause incalculable harm to victims, the accused, witnesses and the public when justice is delayed. I implore judges to be steadfast and to maintain and sustain your integrity as the last hope of the common man,” he said
