Uche gunning for ‘all three points’ against Real Madrid

Real Madrid will be away to Villarreal this Saturday in La Liga, and Nigerian striker Ikechukwu Uche is not in the mood to be a good host, as he is keen to see his side take all three points at El Madrigal.

Uche is aware that it will be difficult, but he remains confident his side has what it takes to produce a quality performance against the giants from the capital.

“Real Madrid is always a great match, one that everyone wants to play in. We’re hoping to do well and to take all three points. Last season, we drew against them at home and this time, we want to win. That’s the enthusiasm we have.”

Real Madrid are in rich vein of goal-scoring form and Uche acknowledges the many dangers Carlo Ancelotti side will pose, not least the quality they have throughout their team and ability to score goals.

“This isn’t something new, because whether they play well or not, they’re always capable of scoring plenty of goals and creating many chances in any game. They have the best players in the world and quality throughout that any of their players can change a game at any moment.

“It’s going to be tough, but we can beat Real Madrid. To win, we’ll have to make the most of our chances and play at 100 per cent. Defending well is also going to be crucial for us. We know they’re a great team and to beat them, we’ll have to work a lot harder than they do and do everything well, but we can do it and we’ll be going for them.”

The out-of-favour Super Eagles striker is back after a brief injury layoff and he is keen to confront Los Blancos.

“I’m feeling fine and without any physical problems, so hopefully I’ll be able to help the team in this game and be at my very best level.”
