Uche ‘very happy’ to extend contract

Super Eagles striker, Ikechukwu Uche, is happy to have extended his contract with Spanish club, Villarreal till 2017.

The 30-year-old forward took to Twitter to announce the development.

“Proud to defend this shirt until 2017! Thanks to the club, fans, teammates and coaching staff VillarrealCF,” he wrote via ikeuche9.

“I feel very happy for my renewal with @VillarrealCF until 2017! I will do my best to help the team!”

The former Getafe forward also retweeted his club’s comment on the contract extension.

“We’re very happy too, Ike! So good to have such a great player and outstanding person aboard for another 2 years!”

Uche joined Villarreal from Granada in 2011, on loan before the deal was made permanent. He has scored four goals in 13 league matches this season.

He will look to repay Villarreal with more goals starting with home fixture against Deportivo La Coruna on Sunday.
