Ankit Puri, six-handicapper, shot the best gross at the event with 74, two over par from his 18-hole round, while Remi Olukoya and Akar Talah were runner-up and second runner-up, respectively, at the event.

Aby Matthew, the chairman of the organising committee, said the event underscored the relationship between the Indian and Nigerian business communities.

“It was great having over 400 players vying for one honour or the other and the support we got from InBev. Zenith Bank, African Steel and Pepsi was encouraging. The CFAO also staking one of its Suzuki products for a Hole-in-One, which was not won eventually. But the gesture shows the respect the event has earned over the years,” Mathew said.

The Indian Cup golf tournament is an annual event organised by the Indian Golf Foundation (IGF).
