UCL: City on brink of elimination after losing to PSG as Arsenal defeat Zagreb

Manchester City lost 4-2 to PSG in their UEFA Champions League encounter

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) came from two goals down to defeat Manchester City 4-2 in their UEFA Champions League (UCL) preliminary stage encounter.

City took a two-goal lead through Jack Grealish and Erling Haaland before capitulating to the French champions.  Strikes from Ousmane Dembele, Bradley Barcola, Joao Neves, and Goncalo Ramos upturned the game for PSG at a packed Parc des Princes stadium on Wednesday.

Grealish opened the goals rush when he slotted home the rebound from Bernardo Silva’s saved shot to put Man City in the lead on 50 minutes.

He was heavily involved when Haaland smashed a cutback into the net three minutes later to double City’s advantage.

The home side started their comeback three minutes later when half-time substitute Dembele provided a clinical finish to half the deficit. The hosts restored parity seven minutes later through Barcola, who converted a rebound.

Joao Neves completed the turnaround in the 79th minute with a low diving header at the back post.

City’s capitulation was sealed in added time by Goncalo Ramos, who slotted home a curler into the top corner for 4-2.
