George Ilenikhena, the Nigerian international footballer, scored a few minutes into added time to hand Antwerp a 3-2 win over Barcelona in their UEFA Champions League (UCL) encounter on Wednesday.

The 17-year-old striker made no mistake when he was put through on goal, slotting the ball into the corner to secure a priceless win for the Belgians; their first of the competition.

The Lagos-born French Citizen’s goal was his fourth in three matches following his midweek heroics in the Belgian Cup where he netted a brace.

Antwerp had taken the lead twice before surrendering the advantage to Barcelona. Ilenikhena, however, struck a minute later to secure the historic win for Antwerp, who finished bottom of the group regardless.

Manchester City fared better in their match against Red Star Belgrade, with youngsters Micah Hamilton and Oscar Bobb scoring their first goals for the club in a 3-2 win. Kalvin Phillips netted the winner from the spot.

Samuel Chukwueze, Super Eagles of Nigeria winger, also proved influential for his club, AC Milan, as he netted the winning strike that sealed qualification into the round of 16 stage, thanks to a 2-1 win at Newcastle.
