Real Madrid and Manchester City shared the spoils following a 1-1 draw in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League (UCL) encounter at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium on Tuesday night.

Vinicius scored the opening goal of the match on 36 minutes when he collected a pass from Eduardo Camavinga before lashing a 25-yard shot into the top corner for his 23rd goal of the season.

The visitors were dominated at the start of the second half and Real Madrid saw penalty shouts waved away before Man City scored against the run of play on 67 minutes.

Kevin de Bruyne was given the freedom to shoot from outside the area and the Belgian playmaker struck it expertly into the bottom corner for 1-1.
