Liverpool came from behind to secure a 3-2 win over AC Milan in their opening UEFA Champions League (UCL) encounter at Anfield stadium on Wednesday night.
An own goal by Fikayo Tomori, Mohamed Salah’s equaliser, and Jordan Henderson’s sumptuous long-range winner ensured victory over AC Milan in a game Jurgen Klopp’s men dominated and should have scored more.
The Reds took the lead when Tomori deflected Trent Alexander-Arnold’s shot beyond his goalkeeper, but AC Milan scored twice in two minutes through Ante Rebic and Brahim Diaz to take a 2-1 lead at the interval.
Salah, who had a first-half penalty saved, equalised minutes into the second half before Henderson’s thunderbolt proved the eventual winner.

The win ensured Liverpool maintained their unbeaten start to the season in all competitions.
In other matches, Lionel Messi failed to sparkle as a poor Paris Saint-Germain side held on for a disappointing 1-1 draw against Club Brugge in Belgium.
Ander Herrera gave PSG a brief lead that was cancelled by Hans Vanaken on 27 minutes. Messi had a glorious opportunity to win it late on but the former Barcelona maestro skied his shot from inside the penalty area on a night he was booked and looked short of his best.

Manchester City began their latest UCL hunt with a rollercoaster 6-3 win over ten-men RB Leipzig at the Etihad stadium. Jack Grealish, Gabriel Jesus, and Riyad Mahrez were among the goalscorers on the night.
