Mohamed Salah and Lionel Messi both scored twice as Liverpool and Paris Saint Germain (PSG) both snatched victories in their UEFA Champions League (UCL) group stage encounters on Tuesday night.
While Liverpool went to Atletico Madrid to win 3-2 against Diego Simeone’s men, PSG were saved from the jaws of defeat to RB Leipzig by their legendary summer signing’s two goals to ensure a 3-2 comeback win .
Liverpool took a two-goal lead through Salah and Naby Keita in the first 15 minutes before Atletico hit back through Griezmann who found the corner of the net on two occasions to restore parity.
The French striker was, however, sent off on 52 minutes for a high boot to Roberto Firmino’s face.

The Reds were then awarded a penalty after Atletico committed a foul on Diogo Jota, and Salah confidently dispatched on 78 minutes to seal the win.
PSG were also made to sweat for a 3-2 win in Paris, after Mauricio Pochettino’s side got bailed out by Messi.
The Parisians took an early lead though Kylian Mbappe’s strike on the counter but RB Leipzig roared back to equalise through Andre Gomes after wasting a plethora of clear-cut chances.

The Germans again tore PSG’s defence to shreds to take the lead early in the second period but Messi had other ideas.
The 34-year-old was on hand to tap in the rebound of his shot into an empty net to equalise, while his panenka penalty proved the match-winner as Mbappe missed another penalty awarded deep into injury time.
In other matches, Vinicius Junior scored twice as five-star Real Madrid won 5-0 at Shakhtar Donetsk. Manchester City defeated Club Brugge 5-1 in Belgium, while Ajax continued their impressive start with a 4-0 win over Erling Haland-led Borussia Dortmund.
