Udom Emmanuel: We’re determined to crush COVID-19

Udom Emmanuel, governor of Akwa Ibom, says his administration is committed to battling coronavirus effectively in the state even as school resumes for exit classes.

Emmanuel said this while taking delivery of five ambulance buses and 112,000 face masks donated to the state by BUA Foundation.

He said already, the effort of the state government in fighting the pandemic has paid off, adding that there will not be any complacency on the part of the government.

He promised to deploy the ambulance buses in the different local government areas of the state in line with his administration’s policy of ensuring that every part of the state is well equipped for eventual medical emergency.

He also hinted that the face masks will be sent to schools for students in exit classes who have resumed for examinations.

Abdul Rabiu, chairman, BUA Foundation, represented by Aliyu Hong, a director of the organisation,  commended Emmanuel for the state’s effort in the fight against COVID-19.

The former minister of health said in appreciation of the governor’s effort, the organisation decided to support him to completely win the fight against COVID-19.

He said such successful approach should be emulated by other governors so that Nigeria can totally be free of the disease.
