Israel Adesanya, Nigerian-New Zealander mixed martial artist, is set to defend his Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight title against Marvin Vettori on June 12.
According to ESPN, Dana White, UFC president, said he is finalising talks for a fight between Adesanya and the Italian mixed martial artist for the UFC 263 category.
It was gathered that the bout will be a pay-per-view event, although the UFC is yet to announce a venue.
Adesanya defeated Verroti by split decisions in 2018 to begin the impressive round of performances that culminated in his coronation as the champion of the 185-pound division in 2019.

Although ‘The Last Style Bender’s winning streak was cut short in March, he will seek to spring back from that failure to reinforce his dominance in the middleweight division.
His attempt to become UFC’s latest duo-weight champion was crushed by Jan Blachowicz, UFC light heavyweight champion via a unanimous decision.
Verroti, Adesanya’s next opponent, comes off the back of 5 consecutive victories.
