Umahi dissolves boards and development centre cooordinators

Dave Umahi, governor of Ebonyi, has ordered the immediate dissolution of boards and development centre coordinators in the state.

Umahi gave the order in a statement signed by Kenneth Ugbala, secretary to the state government (SSG).

The governor stated that the governing council of Ebonyi state university, Abakaliki was not affected by the directive.

“The development centre coordinators are to hand over all government property in their possession including official vehicles to the office of the SSG,” NAN quoted him as saying.

“This should be on or before the close of work on Tuesday, March 21, 2023.

“Similarly, the boards and commissions are to hand over government property in their possession to their parent ministries on the same time and date.”

The directive also stated that the government would put a transition committee in place that would offer advice on whether to reconstitute the boards, commissions and development centre coordinators.

“The committee shall also advise whether such should be left for the incoming administration,” it said.

“The government has noted members of boards, commissions and development centre coordinators who served very well in their various offices.

The directive said that “such persons would be accommodated during the reconstitution”.

The governor in the statement ordered that the affected people should comply with immediate effect.

Umahi is a senator-elect in the incoming 1oth national assembly to represent Ebonyi south for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
