Students of the University of Ilorin (Unilorin) have won the 2014 edition of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) essay competition for the third consecutive time.
Abdulazeez Muh’d Bashir, a 200 level student of combined law (pictured), and Abdulkareem Abdulhakeem Ibraheem, a 400 level student of history and international relations, won the first and second prizes respectively.
The last two editions of the competition were won by Alao Idris and Muhammed Abdullahi Tosin, both students of Unilorin.
The 2014 edition featured entries more than 200 students of various tertiary institutions within the country. Three of the seven finalists shortlisted were Unilorin students and two of them eventually emerged winners.

Onah Calistus Chinonso, a student of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), emerged third prize winner.
Winners of the essay competition titled ‘Expanding Employment Opportunities for Nigerian Youths: The Self-employment Imperative’ were rewarded with cash prizes and electronic gadgets.
CIPM, an institute of learning on human resources and personnel management, organises essay competition annually for undergraduates of Nigerian tertiary institutions.
