Beyonce, multiple award-winning American singer, and Rihanna, multiple award-winning Barbadian singer, can add yet another ‘out-of-the-box’ feat to their achievements, as they are to be studied by undergraduates of University of Texas, Austin as a course.
According to allhiphop.com, the students are already in high spirits over the addition of the new course, which will focus on the superstars, who are well known for their sex appeals, even as the Queen Bey (Beyonce) is also known to stand for feminism.
The university says the students “will not be simply listening to Beyoncé and Rihanna for fun or even comparing the roles of Beyoncé and Rihanna in popular culture; rather, students will be studying how the lyrics, music videos, and actions of these women express various aspects of black feminism such as violence, economic opportunity, sexuality, standards of beauty, and creative self-expression.”
However, University of Texas will not be the first to make such modern move, as Georgetown University also offers a sociology course based on Jay-Z, American rapper and entrepreneur.
