UPDATES: Ngige loses… and other results

Uche Ekwunife of the PDP has been declared the winner of the Anambra central senatorial poll. She polled 101,548 votes to defeat 14 other candidates, including former governor and serving senator, Chris Ngige.

Victor Umeh, chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), garnered 77, 129 votes to come second while APC’s Ngige placed third with 20, 850 votes.

Earlier, Ngige had expressed dissatisfaction with the conduct of the Presidential and National Assembly elections and called for its cancellation in the state.

Ngige, who refused to cast his vote on Saturday, noted that “the entire electoral process in the state was given an open ended system that allowed for rigging”.

Binta Bello (PDP, Kaltungo/Shongom federal constituency, Bauchi) has been re-elected member of the House of Representatives with 34,161 votes. Abishak Andirya (APC) came second with 23,684.

The APC candidate,  Babajimi Benson,  has been declared winner of the House of Representative elections for Ikorodu federal constituency with 48,789.

Clifford  Ordia (PDP) is the winner of  the  Edo central senatorial district. Ordia got 84,782 votes to defeat his closest rival, Francis Inegbeneki  of All Progressives Congress (APC), who got 46,820 votes.

In Edo north, APC candidate, Philip Shaibu, was declared winner of Estako federal constituency with 42,019 votes. He beat the PDP candidate, Abbas Braimoh, who got 29,964 votes.

In Owan federal constituency, Pally Iriase of APC scored 26, 606 to retain the Owan seat. His closest rival was Ambrose Imode of PDP who scored 21,069 votes.

In Akoko Edo federal constituency, the returning officer, APC candidate, Peter Aphatasin, was returned with 19, 006 votes.

In Edo north senatorial district, Francis Alimikhena of the APC scored 86, 021 votes to defeat Pascal Ugbome of PDP who got 66,092 votes.

Philip Gyunka of the PDP won Nasarawa North senatorial district.

Emmanuel Umbugadu, also of PDP, won the Akwanga/Nasarawa-Eggon/Wamba federal constituency for the house of reps.

The Accord Party candidate, Dauda Kako-Are, was  winner of house of representatives election for Mushin federal constituency 1.

Taofeek Adaranijo of the APC won the house of representatives seat for Agege federal constituency.

The APC candidate, Umar Ibrahim, has been declared winner of Katsina central senatorial zone in Katsina state. He defeated PDP’s Lamis Dikko, who scored 77,323 votes.

The APC won Safana/Batsari/Danmusa Federal constituency seat in Katsina. Its candidate, Ahmad Dayyabu,polled 30,998 votes to emerge winner while Jamilu Danmusa of PDP came second with 3,905 votes.

Bukola Saraki, former governor of Kwara state,defeated Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq of the PDP with 118,879 votes to retain his seat at Kwara central senatorial district. Abdulrasaq managed to secure 66,864 votes.

While Dino Melaye, a former member of the house of representatives, polled 41, 120 votes ahead of Smart Adeyemi, two term senator in Kogi west senatorial district and former chairman of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), who had 38, 148 votes.

Stella Oduah, the immediate past minister of aviation won the Anambra north senatorial seat with 42, 239 votes ahead of Dubem Obaze of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, who had only 8,868 votes.

Rabiu Kwankwaso, governor of Kano state, also polled 758,383 votes to defeat Bashir Lado, the incumbent senator of Kano central senatorial district.
