The US team on Friday ended D’Tigress’ impressive run at the FIBA Women’s World Cup in Tenerife, Spain.
The defending champions overcame their slow start to defeat D’Tigress 71-40 and earn their 20th straight win in the competition.
The D’Tigress won the first quarter 17-9, marking the first time the world number one team had scored less than 10 points in any quarter since 2006.
It was a tight second quarter but the US team won 18-6 points.

The Americans continued their dominance to close the third quarter with 46-35 points.
The Nigerian girls had earlier made history by qualifying for the quarter-final for the first time in history after defeating Greece.
