Christina Grimmie, a singer,who had competed on the United States TV programme The Voice, has died of wounds sustained from gunshot.
Police said a man opened fire on her when she was signing autographs after a concert.
In a tweet, Orlando’s police wrote: “With deep regret, we have confirmed Christina Grimmie, @TheRealGrimmie has died from her injuries.”
The man suspected of killing Grimmie apparently came from another city to confront her, according to the police.

Police chief John Mina said the gunman “travelled to Orlando to commit this crime” but did not appear to know her personally.
Mina said the gunman, who shot himself dead during a struggle with the singer’s brother, was a 21-year-old white male and had two handguns and a hunting knife.
His name has not been released.

The 22-year-old singer died in a local hospital, according to the BBC.
In 2014, Grimmie finished third during season six of The Voice.
Meanwhile, Grimmie’s publicist said: “It is with a heavy heart that we can confirm that Christina has passed and went home to be with the Lord.”
Police said Grimmie was shot around 22:45 local time on Friday (02:45 GMT Saturday) at The Plaza Live in Orlando.

The gunman opened fire as she was signing autographs for fans with Before You Exit band.
Orlando police department spokeswoman, Wanda Miglio, said Grimmie’s brother “immediately tackled the suspect.”
She described Grimmie’s brother as a “hero” for stopping the attacker “from not hurting anyone else.”
