Uzodimma moves to appoint commissioners — 6 months after dissolving cabinet

Hope Uzodimma, governor of Imo, has sent a list of 17 commissioner nominees to the state assembly for screening and confirmation.

Kennedy Ibeh, speaker of the Imo house of assembly, made the announcement during the plenary session on Monday.

Ibeh said the lawmakers will be diligent in screening the nominees to ensure that they are qualified for the job.

The speaker asked the nominees to come along with their credentials including their curriculum vitae, tax clearance, and copies of their certificates, adding that the screening exercise will take place at the complex of the house of assembly.

Some of the nominees include Success Chinons0, Caunanya Okorodudu, C.O. Nwosu, Keziechi Ogaziechi and Rex Anunobi, Love Ineh, Rubby Emele, Simon Ebegbulem and Anukwuem Chukwunyere.

In May, Uzodimma dissolved the 28-member cabinet but retained eight commissioners.

At the time, Amaka Okafor, aide to Uzodimma, told the TheCable that the governor took the decision to rejig and re-energise the system for maximum productivity.
