Hope Uzodimma, governor of Imo, has sacked all his special advisers (SAs) and senior special assistants (SSAs).
The governor was said to have made the announcement on Friday after presiding over a meeting at the government house in Owerri, the Imo state capital.
According to The PUNCH, confirming the development, Declan Emelumba, the state commissioner for information and strategy, said the governor took the decision in the overall interest of the state.
He said the governor made the decision based on advice given to him by a board he constituted.

“Yes, the story is true. The governor took the decision following a recommendation by a board he constituted in this regard. The idea is to make governance effective,” he said.
“The whole idea is in the best interest of the people of the state. There is no ill motive about it. The governor constituted a committee and it advised him in that direction. That is the whole essence of it.”
This development comes just weeks after the governor dissolved his 28-member cabinet leaving only eight appointees.
