The form of Francis Uzoho, Shehu Abdullahi and Zaidu Sanusi will excite Gernot Rohr, Super Eagles coach, as he prepares to announce his team list for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

With that in mind, here are the players who impressed in TheCable’s team of the week.

Francis Uzoho – Omonia Nicosia

Had little to do in the first half but was kept busy in the second period with series of saves. Steady.

Godswill Ekpolo – Haecken

Got down the right flank on several occasions, crossed over dangerous balls, and got into good positions. Scored a goal too. Peerless.

Daniel Adejo – Lamia

Another fine performance from the veteran, who showed his authority and command of almost every situation against Ganinna. Comprehensive.

Tosin Adarabioyo – Fulham

Could the defender be the future of the Super Eagles? Certainly, in this game, he proved he could be with his calmness. Complete.

Zaidu Sanusi – FC Porto

He had an exceptional game against Sporting CP. He also set up several chances. Matchless.

Bamidele Yusuf – Spartak Trnava

A top-notch performance from the versatile player in the win over Zilina. The Jazzy Stars product was rewarded with a brace. Brilliant.

Shehu Abdullahi – Omonia Nicosia

The utility man was an inspiration in the away win over Olympiakos with his clever football and intelligent passes for Omonia Nicosia. Devastating.

Junior Ajayi – Al Ahly

After narrowly missing a chance, he simply slotted the opener and grabbed the winner against El-Gaish. Overwhelming.

Babajide David – Hatayspor

A man of the match display from the forward, who scored a cracker and was faster than a rabbit on roller skates. He ended the game with a brace. Irreplaceable.

Sadiq Umar – Almeria

Scored a goal before providing an assist. Added pace and movement to Almeria’s attack and looked creative with the ball. Innovative.

Odion Ighalo – Al Shabab

Ighalo was fantastic throughout the match against Damac. The talented forward opened the scoring for the Lions in the 12th minute before scoring the second goal — which turned out to be the match-winner in the 39th minute. Sensational.
