LVG storms out of press briefing at the mention of Mourinho

Louis Van Gaal stormed out of a media briefing in the UK on Wednesday when a journalist referred to Jose Mourinho during an interactive session.

Gary Lineker, former England international, confirmed the incident via his social network.

The Dutchman reportedly stormed out in anger following speculations that he would be replaced by his ‘colleague’ Mourinho, should he fail to succeed during the grace period giving him against Stoke and Chelsea.

Arsene Wenger had described speculations of replacing the Dutchman as ‘disrespectful’.

When asked about his feelings on Wenger’s comment, Van Gaal retorted, asking for apologies from those present at the conference.

”Has anybody in this room not a feeling to apologise to me? That’s what I’m wondering,” he said.

”I think I was already sacked, I read. I have been sacked. My colleague (Mourinho) was here already.”

Van Gaal spoke on what the effects of his sack could have been on his family, mentioning specifically his wife, kids and grandchildren.

He hinted his displeasure in being at the conference, saying he showed up “just to obey” premier league rules.

At the conclusion of his statement, the 64 year-old stormed out, bringing the conference to an abrupt end in exactly four minutes and 58 seconds.
