Victor Boniface, Super Eagles striker, has been named the best rookie in Germany’s Bundesliga for the 2023/24 season.
The 23-year-old was announced the winner of the prestigious award on Wednesday.
Boniface defeated Xavi Simons of RB Leipzig, Ian Maatsen of Borussia Dortmund, and Maximilian Beier of TSG Hoffenheim to win the gong, recognising the best-performing young talent in the league.

The Akure-born striker won the award despite being out of action for three months after suffering a groin injury while preparing for the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) with the Super Eagles in January.
Before his injury, he was named the Bundesliga Rookie of the Month four consecutive times between August and November 2023.
Upon his return to action for Bayer Leverkusen in April, he maintained his prolific form in front of goal as the club won its first-ever Bundesliga title.
Boniface has 13 goals and eight assists in 23 league matches this season as Leverkusen aim to finish the campaign unbeaten.

He has also been nominated for a place in the 2023/24 Bundesliga team of the season.
He will be contending for a place in the best XI team with nine other attackers in the league.
