Ademola Adeleke, lawmaker representing Osun west senatorial district, is currently at a magistrate’s court in Mpape, Abuja.
Adeleke was detained on Monday after he honoured an invitation at the force headquarters in Abuja.
After news of his arrest broke, Frank Mba, force spokesman, told TheCable that Adeleke would be charged to court on Tuesday.
In a video the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) released on its Twitter handle, Adeleke was seen entering the premises of the court.

With both hands in the air, Adeleke smiled as he exchanged pleasantries with his lawyers and some people around him.
The police have said he was arrested over alleged certificate forgery but the PDP has accused the federal government of witch-hunting Adeleke over the last governorship election in Osun state.
Adeleke, who ran under the platform of the PDP, had contested the outcome of the election and the tribunal declared him the duly elected governor of the state but Gboyega Oyetola, the incumbent governor filed an appeal.

The appellate court is yet to deliver its judgement.
