Emmanuel Audu-Ohwavborua, the interim managing director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), says potentials will be unleashed if agriculture is harnessed properly.
According to him, to curb unemployment, agriculture is the way to go at a time like this.
“Agriculture is the way to go especially in these times. The unemployment figure in Nigeria right now — which is actually not different in most African countries — is above 30 percent. It’s huge,” he said.
“And so, the only way or one of the easiest ways to curb that is through agriculture.”

Audu-Ohwavborua said this when when delegates from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the federal ministry of agriculture and rural development paid him a courtesy visit.
He also re-affirmed his belief in the IFAD programmes, adding that the NDDC intends to make the training programmes more dynamic.
