A video of lawmakers in the Benue state house of assembly scaling the fence surrounding the complex has surfaced online.
The lawmakers used the fence after police officers barricaded the gate, denying them access to plenary.
Terkimbi Ikyange, impeached speaker of the house, and Titus Ubah, his successor, were at the premises, both laying claim to the post of speaker.
Supporters of both parties forced their way into the premises through the high wall.

However, the lawmakers met the entrance to the legislative chamber locked.
Not relenting, they moved to the government house banquet hall for plenary.
