There was an outbreak of fire at the VIP lounge of Sam Mbakwe international airport in Owerri, Imo state, on Monday.
The incident left passengers fleeing in different directions.
The fire, which reportedly started around 2pm, raged for about an hour before it was put off by officials of the fire service and airport.
It is not clear what caused the incident but there are unconfirmed reports that electrical spark triggered the fire.

Speaking on the incident, Henrietta Yakubu, general manager, corporate affairs, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), said normal operations had since resumed at the airport.
