Dino Melaye, senator representing Kogi west, was admitted into Zankili Medical Center, Mabuchi, federal capital territory (FCT).
He was brought into the hospital after sustaining injuries in a bid to jump out of a moving police vehicle.
There were no security operatives when he arrived.
