A massive fire engulfed a 27-storey block of flats in central London on Wednesday leaving at least 50 hospitalised, many trapped and resulting in a number of fatalities.
A resident who resides close to the Grenfell Tower, in north Kensington, said she heard people trapped in the burning building screaming for help.
“I live 5 minutes walk away and we could hear people screaming, help me, help me and flashing their phone lights to let people know they were there,” she told AP.

London fire commissioner, Dany Cotton, says there’s no definite figure to the number of fatalities for the time being.
“I cannot confirm the number at this time due to the size and complexity of this building. It would clearly be wrong for me to speculate further. Equally the cause of this fire is not known at this stage,” she said in a statement.
A resident group reportedly issued series of warnings of the tower being a fire risk.
