A viral video has shown an unidentified police officer strangling a driver with the car in motion.
On Wednesday, the video was posted by a Snapchat user identified as Light Orji.
“Had the most traumatic experience today, literally had to jump off the vehicle. Stupid policeman was strangling my Uber guy while he was driving at full speed,” the Snapchat user wrote.
Different versions of the video have been posted on X and other social media platforms.

During the incident, the driver could be seen struggling to remove his neck from the vice grip of the officer.
A woman could be heard crying, while appealing to the officer to let go of the driver to avoid a crash.
The officer insisted that he would not leave the driver because he initially refused to stop.

The passenger offered to give the officer some money so that he would allow the driver control the car.

Reacting to the clip, Muyiwa Adejobi, the force spokesperson, asked the police complaint unit to investigate the incident.
“Where is this again? Can we have more information about it? Thanks. @PoliceNG, @PoliceNG_CRU, take up this and investigate, please. Thanks,” Adejobi wrote.
