Former Vice-President Namadi Sambo joined President Muhammadu Buhari for special Jumat prayers at the mosque in the presidential villa in Abuja on Friday.
The service was held to mark the nation’s 57th independence anniversary.
Senate President Bukola Saraki; Tukur Buratai, chief of army staff; Saddique Abubakar, chief of air staff; Ibrahim Idris, inspector-general of police; and some ministers were also at the mosque.
After the prayers, Buhari exchanged pleasantries with people before leaving.
