Residents of GRA Kaduna were still in bed on Tuesday morning when a demolition team escorted by armed security operatives stormed 11B Sambo road.
Just last week did Suleiman Hukunyi, lawmaker representing Kaduna north central senatorial district, convert the building – a duplex – to the head office of the faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) which he leads.
The building was demolished within a few hours.
The development happened less than two days after the faction said it had suspended Nasir el-Rufai, governor of the state, for anti-party activities.

In an attempt to justify the act, a senior government official who did not want to be named told TheCable that the Kaduna state Urban and Property Development Agency (KASUPDA) carried out the demolition because the property was allocated for “residential purpose and not for political activities”.
Below is a video of the aftermath of the destruction.
