[double_paragraph][block]Left Side Content [/block][block] Right Side Content [/block] [/double_paragraph]Vlisco, a textile manufacturing company, has announced its 2018 ambassador for Nigeria.
In a statement on Saturday, the company said the announcement is part of its annual tradition of celebrating women across Africa.
Yolanda George-David, the newly named ambassador, is taking over from Dotun Akande, founder of Patrick Speech and Language Center.
George-David, a neurosurgeon, is also an academic, an international speaker, a businesswoman, media personality, a human rights activist and the founder of Aunt Landa’s Bethel Foundation.

According to the statement, George-David founded by Landa’s Bethel Foundation to rehabilitate and counsel over 25,000 sexually abused teenagers.
The teenagers are also said to be taught essential vocational and life skills.
“We are proud to work with an ambassador who shares the same values as Vlisco in empowering women across the country,” Yvonne Chioke, Vlisco Nigeria business strategy manager, said of George-David.

“Dr. Yolanda’s passion and dedication to the cause of giving a new lease of life to some of the most traumatised and marginalised people in our society is truly commendable.
“We look forward to supporting her in making a difference in more lives.”
“She will be travelling across the country to engage with various women groups on mentorship and educating them on the plight of women, girls and boys that have been sexually abused, in order to create even more awareness.”
