There is a low turnout of voters in the ongoing supplementary election in Ebonyi state.
The supplementary poll is taking place in seven LGAs — Abakaliki, Afikpo north, Afikpo south, Ezza north, Ezza south, Ikwo and Ivo.
NAN reports that there is a low turnout of voters in some polling units in Ikwo LGA of the state.
The election in Ikwo is to elect the representative for Ikwo north constituency in Ebonyi house of assembly.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared the March 18 poll in the LGA inconclusive following the outbreak of violence and irregularities.
The news agency said in Ugbodo village hall and Olua playground, INEC Officials were present but voter turnout was low.
An INEC official who chose not to be named, expressed worries over the voter apathy in the area, adding that the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) BVAS is “working well”.

Meanwhile, some eligible voters attributed the low turnout of voters to the outcome of the presidential poll.
Joy Nwanchor said she lost interest in voting after the general elections.
“Voting is just a waste of time and energy because the votes do not count in any way in this country. So, no need for me queueing for voting,” Nwanchor said.
Sunday Chukwu, another voter, expressed reservation over the election processes, saying the electoral body must be “revamped” if “credible and reliable” elections must be achieved.

“I cannot go out because the last elections were not encouraging. Whether I vote or not a winner will emerge,” Chukwu said.
