The home-based Super Eagles of Nigeria are battle ready to defeat host country Ghana on Sunday to claim the West African Football Union Cup.
Eagles vice-captain Chima Akas made this confident declaration while speaking with TheCable.
The Enyimba defender dismissed claims that Ghana made it easy for the Eagles in the group stage game because the hosts were not intent on winning.
“That’s not true. Ghana didn’t let us win easily because they came all out to play us but we were better than them,” Akas told TheCable from Ghana.

“That was what happened. We won fair and square.
“It’s going to be a tough match because they are the host country but if we are calm, concentrate and determination on our side, we will overcome them like we did in the group stage.
“I don’t have anything to say to them because everyone is entitled to their opinion but the end will justify the means for us on Sunday.

The winning team will go home with $100,000 prize money.
