Warm reception in Falcons camp flatters Oshoala

Super Falcons forward, Asisat Oshoala, was overwhelmed by the reception she got on her arrival in the Abuja camp of the African champions on Friday.

The reigning African footballer of the year hit camp to the warm embrace of teammates, coaches and officials who celebrated her arrival with pomp and ceremony.

Looking tired and jaded after the long trip from England where she plies her trade with Women Super league side, Liverpool Ladies, Oshoala said she can’t wait to take on Mali in the second leg of their All-Africa Games qualifier at the Abuja National Stadium on April 10.

“I am overwhelmed by the welcome given to me by my teammates and officials and I must confess that I have missed them so much and I cannot wait to train with them again as we plot how to beat Mali,” she told thenff.com.

“I am not here for jokes but for the business of beating Mali and securing All Africa Games ticket. I want to help the team win and does not matter whether I score so long as we win and qualify.”

The first leg ended 1-1 in Bamako and the Super Falcons are a win away from booking a ticket to Congo-Brazzaville, host of the AAG.
