Abba Yusuf, governor of Kano, has commiserated with the family of Zubaida Damakka over the death of the former commissioner for budget and planning.
Damakka was said to have died on Saturday in Abuja after a brief illness.
She served as commissioner during the first tenure of Abdullahi Ganduje, former governor of the state.
In a post on his official Twitter handle, Yusuf said he is saddened by Damakka’s death and described her as “an asset to Kano”.

He further said her contributions to the entrepreneurial community can never be forgotten.
“Innalillahi wainna ilahi rajiun! I am saddened by the loss of Barr. Zubaida Damakka, a former Kano State Commissioner for Budget and Planning,” Yusuf said.
“Late Zubaida, was an asset to the Kano entrepreneurial community, and her contribution to the community can never be forgotten.

“May the Almighty Allah grant her Jannatul Firdaus. I extend the condolences of myself, my family, and the Kano State Government to her family, friends and associates.”
