Hadiza Balarabe, deputy governor of Kaduna, has dedicated her ‘Women Making Impact’ award to the women and girls of the state and northern Nigeria.
Balarabe received the Women of Impact in Government and Politics Award from Arise News/ThisDay Group on Monday.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the deputy governor expressed gratitude to Uba Sani, the governor of Kaduna, for providing the opportunity to serve and amplify her contributions to governance.
She described the recognition as “a testament to the collaborative efforts of all those who strive every day to make Kaduna state and Nigeria a better place for all”.

Balarabe said she is “honoured to be among such a remarkable group of women who have dedicated their lives to public service and community development”.
She also thanked her colleagues in the Kaduna state executive council as well as her team and other government employees who have supported her journey.
“As a deputy governor, I have witnessed firsthand the power of determination, collaboration, and innovation,” she said.

“The challenges we face—be it in healthcare, education, or women’s empowerment—are substantial, but I firmly believe that with resilience and strategic planning, we can transform these challenges into opportunities.
“We need to continue to initiate and sustain programmes focusing on education, health, and economic empowerment that target the most vulnerable in our society, and we must strive to create governance models that are inclusive, accountable, and transparent.
“The award further fuels my belief that, together, we can break barriers and inspire future generations of women leaders who will rise to champion causes that matter.
“I extend deep appreciations to my family and friends for the immense support they have given me through the years. May Allah bless you and reward you abundantly.”
