The US mission in Nigeria has taken to social media to react to D’Tigers’ 90-87 victory over the Dream Team on Sunday.
The victory, which was achieved at an Olympic tune-up tourney, was the first by an African team over the US men’s national basketball team.
The trio of Precious Achiuwa, Gabe Vincent and Caleb Agada imposed themselves on the game with impressive displays.
Reacting via a Twitter post, the US mission congratulated the D’Tigers while hoping for a rematch at the Olympics.

In the same vein, USA basketball, the governing body of the sport in the country, also took to Twitter to laud D’Tigers for their performance and result.

Nigeria is billed to play Argentina and Spain before departing for Tokyo on July 17.
The Olympics will take place from July 23 to August 8, and the basketball event will begin on the third day.

Nigeria is in group B alongside Australia, Italy and Germany.
