Jibrin Ndache, director-general (DG) of Voice of Nigeria (VON), says Nigerians must tell narratives about the country.
Ndache spoke on Thursday when he paid a courtesy visit to the Aminu Bayero, Emir of Kano.
He said Nigeria has suffered negative publicity, adding that efforts must be made to change the narrative.
“We believe that there are positive stories to tell about Nigeria, there are so many good stories to tell about our country not the way the country is being portrayed,” Ndache said.

“One cannot stop telling positive stories about himself because if he does not tell it, nobody will tell it for him.
“The platform of the Voice of Nigeria is so available to tell the positive stories about the country and the positive things it has.”
The VON DG said he was at the palace to pay homage and show his respect to the emir.

Ndache said when he was the president of his department at the Bayero University Kano (BUK), the emir helped to organise a tour of the palace for members of the association.
The emir, who was represented by Bashir Mahe, Walin Kano, lamented the dissemination of frightening reports about Nigeria on social media platforms.
He commended the efforts of the VON DG and his colleagues in changing the negative narratives about Nigeria.
